“Reign of Terror” by Sleigh Bells Released: Feb. 21 by Mom+Pop Stars out of five: Four  Sounds like:  Two very different sounds coming together in a loud, intense, ultimately impressive way. Both members of this scary-sassy, noise pop duo brings his and her own unique elements. The singer’s powerful “girly girl” vocals are reminiscent of Gwen Stefani on certain tracks and Cherie Currie (from The Runaways) on others. Countering the vocals are the guitarist’s moody metal chords that come in delicately on some tracks and with fists swinging on others. Sprinkled in between and pulling it all together are the demanding drum and electronic keyboard beats. The albums tracks range in tempo, but do so in a cohesive way, not a confusing  “Am I still listening to the same album?” way. Everything that’s going on throughout this record might leave you feeling a little over-sensationalized at times, especially if this isn’t a musical genre you frequent. Favorite lyrics: “What the fuck’s up?” (first lyrics on the album)  Favorite tracks: 7. Demons and 10. Never Say Die  Listen to this album: When you finally decide to go through with that whole “good-girl-gone-bad” thing. It’s a stage all college ladies go through at one time or another with varying degrees of severity. You’ve come to the conclusion that all guys are either pussies or scum, and you’re sick of crying over how much you loved the scum and sick of hearing the pussies whine about how they wish you’d love them. You decide it’s time to stop letting boys control your life. Handing full control back to yourself, you embrace your inner femme fatale, clear your closet of anything that isn’t tight black leather, and every man that crosses your path you eat for breakfast.
